Practicing the Social is a FREE online gathering. Register on this page for all events, including

  • Wikipedia Edit-a-Thon
  • Tangled Art + Disability Live Performances
  • Book Launch for The Aging-Disability Nexus
  • Remote Access + Arts Everywhere Festival – Nightlife & Dance Party
  • Practicing the Social lectures, performances, and panel presentations
  • Gather Town galleries
  • and much more…

You can attend one event or all. We encourage you to come and go as you need.

We strive to host an inclusive and accessible gathering. We strongly recommend that you register early to allow our team to plan for and execute any specific accommodations as thoroughly as possible.

ASL and live transcription will be provided for all presentations in Zoom. Some of our events (book launch, Remote Access Dance Party, Wikipedia Edit-a-Thon, and the curated galleries) will take place in Gather Town, an online platform where you use an avatar to navigate the space. Unfortunately, the Gather Town platform is not screen reader friendly. Therefore, access requests for these events can be made through the registration process, so that we have people available to support you on your journey through this platform.

NOTE: Our deadline for Access requests is Friday, December 17, 2021. Access requests received after December 17, 2021 can not be guaranteed; however, we will try our best to support you to participate.

During registration, please provide us with the information you feel comfortable sharing, or if you would prefer to discuss your request with a member of our team, please reach out to Marnie Eves or Jodie Salter at revision@uoguelph.ca.
